    • The Day-to-Day

      • Develop, maintain, and interpret HR policies as well as authoring and amending the Employee Handbook and all job descriptions.
      • Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate a team of 2 HR managers in the HR department
      • Provide effective coaching and support to department supervisors on performance management and other related issues
      • Manage worker compensation, unemployment, and FMLA claims as needed. Conduct objective investigations into claims of harassment, discrimination, and grievances.
      • Equitably develop and administer agency wage and salary plan including Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) compliance.
    • Other Duties as Assigned

      • Report to the Board of Directors on HR related issues upon request
      • Oversee benefits administration, payroll, hiring, and on/offboarding
      • Advise, consult, and serve as a member to the management team; actively participate in the execution of plans to improve the agency.
    • Required

      • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or Industrial Psychology
      • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an HR leadership role
      • Considerable knowledge of federal and state employment law as well as recognized HR professional practices
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills – including professional presentation
      • Intermediate to advanced computing skills
    • Preferred

      • Experience with Human Resource Information Systems
      • Experience with Microsoft Office
      • Some graduate-level education in an appropriate field
